Richard E. Crowell , Jr., principal and Rhode Island native, stands as one of the few practicing attorneys in south eastern New England holding both a Masters in Business Administration and a specialized law degree supported by actual operational experience in managing successful businesses. Such varied background has allowed Mr. Crowell to advise numerous clients including law firms, governmental entities and publicly traded corporations in numerous matters of business law
A graduate of Syracuse University, Mr. Crowell has spent over 23 years successfully representing client causes by tempering legal strategy with practical negotiation and business principles. Starting in the Rhode Island Attorney General's office, his broad based career has included service as legal counsel to the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission, tenures as both private and in-house corporate counsel as well lead counsel to public and private issue advocacy projects .
Mr. Crowell has represented a diverse client list including banks, cities, towns, municipal agencies and boards, manufacturers, restaurateurs, high technology businesses , colleges, family trusts and estates , as well as a number of high profile public interest groups. He has also played prominent roles in strategic client planning committees, project management committees and in the role of lobbyist and small business liaison.
On a continuing and selective basis, Mr. Crowell has accepted work for regional law firms , SBA supported enterprises as well as long operating corporations involving, among other services, transactional business matters, business financings, federal and state tax issues, and long-term business structuring and planning.
